Country guides

for studying overseas

i-studentadvisor - International Course guides

i-studentadvisor produce six country guides annually to answer any questions international students may have about studying in Ireland, the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. The country magazines contain a variety of interesting articles and institution profiles to capture the experience of living and learning in that country.

Each of the country guides begin with the Study Guide section, which is a tool to help the student through the application process from the initial choice of institution through the visa requirements to what to do on arrival. The Study Guide can be downloaded and printed to use in class sessions or emailed to students and parents using the share tool.

The country guides are packed with interesting and educational articles, sourced from the most authoritative individuals and organisations on higher education in their countries. The guides also contain a range of interactive profiles to highlight individual institutions with something to offer international students.

The final section of each country guide is Global Features, this is the place where guidance counsellors can keep up to date with developments in their profession and share stories and thoughts with their peers. All our readers are encouraged to submit articles and feedback and take part in discussions and debate.

In 2008 i-studentadvisor released the first three subject specific guides for international course information, targeting the most popular subject choices for international students.

The three subject specific issues: i-MAD for media, arts and design courses; i-BE for business and economics and i-SECT for science, engineering, computing and technology; proved so popular that this year we are launching three more subject specific issues: i-HT for courses within hospitality and tourism; i-MHS for the medicine and health sciences sector and i-LASH for liberal arts education, social sciences and humanities.

This year also saw the release of the Subject Guide offering tasters of the full range of subject specific magazines in one compact edition.

Towards the end of the year there will be another new edition with the introduction of i-ESL, the English Language programmes issue featuring English language courses in the top international student destination countries.
