NAFSA: Association of International Educators and Abroad View, the global magazine for students, are hosting a video contest to give you the opportunity to share how your study abroad experience has helped to advance global understanding.
The closing date for the competition is November 6th 2009. The winner will be named the 2009 Student Diplomat and awarded a $300 cash prize.
The Student Diplomat Video Contest is open to US citizens and legal permanent residents of the United States who have had an undergraduate study abroad experience, whether they are currently enrolled through an accredited college or university or have studied abroad since Spring 2005.
Things to consider before making your video include:
Lifting your Vision — How has your study abroad experience shaped you as a global citizen?
Building Lasting Connections — In what way did your study abroad experience serve as a bridge to cross-cultural understanding?
Promoting Peace — Did your interactions abroad correct any misperceptions about the United States and/or Americans?
Engaging the World — How has your experience benefitted the local community in which you studied?
