Due to unprecedented demand for its Summer Schools, NUI Galway in Ireland has added an extra date to its programme of events across the disciplines of computing, engineering and science.

April 2010, Yorkshire – Last week, HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, officially opened the University of Huddersfield’s International Study Centre (ISC). The centre offers international students undergraduate and postgraduate degree preparation courses.
Situated on the Queensgate campus, courses include an International Foundation Year and an International Diploma for access to the first or second years of select undergraduate degrees. It also offers a Pre-Masters pathway to a range of postgraduate courses.
Prince Andrew, the UK’s Special Representative for Trade and Investment, was welcomed by
Professor Bob Cryan, the University of Huddersfield’s Vice Chancellor, accompanied by the Mayor of Kirklees,
Cllr Julie Stewart-Turner and the High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, Mr Richard Clough. During the visit he cracked jokes about Yorkshire accents with teachers at the centre and spoke to international students from Turkey and Nigeria.

A collaborative effort between the British Council, Consolidated Contractors Ltd., The Arab Palestinian Investment Company, The Pears Foundation and Sir Trevor Chinn is working to provide postgraduate scholarships for Palestinian academics.
