As you may have noticed, we have recently launched our new website. This was in response to feedback we received from our readers and friends of i-studentadvisor. We have redesigned the website to be much more user-friendly, more enjoyable to use and to contain much more easy-to-find content.

The new website offers all the country-specific information a student will need to start researching their options for studying overseas. On our country pages you can find information about visas, the application process, entry requirements, travel and much more in six of the most popular English-speaking countries – Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.

Plus, you can still read all of our extensive interactive subject guides on the Subjects page, which are great for students who know which subject they want to study but are not sure on the country, or for those who want to find out more about a certain subject area. You can also read more subject- and country-specific articles by professional and educational organisations, plus blogs by our i-studentlife bloggers that show what it’s like studying overseas from a student perspective.

For counsellors and advisors, we also have our Counsellor Chronicles page, which contains articles written by education experts and counsellors from around the world about their work. Also, have a look at our News page for all the latest international news stories affecting education around the world.

We will be continuing to update and add content and features to the website in the coming months, as we strive to make the website as useful and enjoyable as possible. If you want to keep updated with all the latest news and articles, you can Subscribe or follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

We always love to hear what our readers and visitors think, so if you have any comments or suggestions about the new website – or any of our resources – please get in touch at editorial@i-studentgroup.com

We hope you enjoy our new website!

Best wishes

The team here at i-studentadvisor and i-studentgroup would like to wish all our readers and friends a very happy holiday season and a prosperous 2011.

Click here to see our holiday e-card.

It has been a great year for i-studentgroup and we would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the production of i-studentadvisor magazines and i-studentlife.

This is our last blog of 2010, but we will be back on January 4th to continue bringing you daily news and features about international education around the world. 2011 is going to be an exciting year for us at i-studentgroup, and therefore for our readers.

Here are some of the continued and new products and services we will be providing for students, counsellors and educators worldwide in the New Year:

• The magazines are all being re-designed and the new 2011 issues will be bigger, better and with more information than ever before. This has been implemented after listening to feedback from you, our readers

• A new issue of the New Zealand magazine will be out mid-year, after taking a year out

• The i-studentlife website will be re-launched with a brand new layout and new features, plus the usual entertaining blogs from international students around the globe about their experiences studying abroad

• We will continue to provide tailored information for individual students generated by the i-studentenquiry service, matching students with possible choices of international universities

Plus, representatives from i-studentgroup will be continuing to visit schools across the world, including Jordan early in the New Year, and also attending many more education fairs worldwide.

The i-studentadvisor editor, Paul McWilliams, says: “It’s been a great year. We hope that in 2011 we can continue to improve the magazines and other resources in line with what you, the reader, really want to see. I would also like to wish all our readers and contributors across the world a very happy holiday and a great new year.”

Please continue to let us know what you think of the i-studentadvisor magazines; we always welcome any feedback, good or bad.

Have a wonderful holiday season. See you in the new year!

i-studentgroup have just landed back in the UK after the OACAC (Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling) Summer Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.

We would like to thank all organisers at Northeastern University and Bridget Herrera and the OACAC Board Members for the organisation, care and attention to detail that went into making this year’s conference such a special event.

Highlights of the event included the High School and College Fair (proudly sponsored by i-studentgroup), the lobster dinner held in the idyllic grounds of Babson College, the annual dodge ball tournament, and Saturday night at the New England Aquarium, set against the backdrop of Boston Harbour.

Our thanks is also extended to all the attendees who hosted educational sessions – the selection on offer was fantastic and covered such a range of topics across the international education spectrum.

We are already looking forward to next year’s conference; set to be hosted by the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.

Thank-you again to all those involved in the planning and execution of Bos10 – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

If you attended the OACAC Summer Conference, please feel free to share your comments or experiences.

We are pleased to announce that the second in the i-studentadvisor series of regional USA e-magazines is now online. The USA Region VIII issue contains information on studying in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC. Click here to launch the USA Region VIII issue.

In previous years we have produced one annual USA magazine to cover all the states. However in 2010, for ease of use we will be releasing eleven regional issues throughout the year – based on the 11 NAFSA (Association of International Educators) regions. We will then be releasing an annual of all the regions at the end of the year.

By creating these focus issues, i-studentadvisor allows you to explore each state and its education system in more depth. Each of these regional issues contains articles from education boards, institutions and associations in the states in that region and for some states there are even personal introductions from the State Governors! These guides are ideal for students who have an idea of where they would like to study in the USA, however if you haven’t decided yet you can always browse our previous national USA issues.

It has been a pleasure working with the individuals and organisations within Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC that have been instrumental in putting the Region VIII issue together. The articles in this issue come together to make up a vivid picture of living and studying in these 6 areas. Here are my top picks of articles in the USA Region VIII issue:

Is Study In A Rural Setting Right For You?

Delaware – Where You Can Matter Most

Virginia Is For College

Don’t forget to check out the Counsellor Chronicles chapter, where counsellors, authors and international education experts contribute articles of a global interest to the guidance counsellor community.

Keep checking the studying in USA states and regions page for the monthly installments of the USA regional issues, plus you can find all our latest country specific and subject specific i-studentadvisor guides at www.i-studentadvisor.com

You can also subscribe free to get all the latest i-studentadvisor issues direct to your inbox.
