2008-09 saw France’s highest ever number of foreign student enrollments, with 266,400 young people choosing to study in the European nation, an increase of 2.3% on the previous year.

Swansea University’s planned Science and Innovation Campus at Swansea Bay has been given a massive boost following the announcement of more than £50 million in research and training funding by Rolls-Royce and the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) at a national level.

Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz has been nominated as the next Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge. Professor Borysiewicz is presently Chief Executive of the Medical Research Council.
