PLANS FOR A NEW WELSH ‘SUPER UNIVERSITY’ TO BE FINALISED TODAY

Today, plans to create a new Welsh ‘Super University’ will be finalised that would see the merging of three Welsh universities, creating the third largest educational institution in Wales, after Cardiff and Glamorgan universities.

As an institution in the Netherlands is threatening to take the UK government to court over UCAS’ refusal to allow UK students to apply to European universities through their system, we consider why UCAS seem so reluctant to change the rules.

More and more universities in Australia are recruiting students from disadvantaged and poorer backgrounds, driven by government targets and financial incentives. However keeping them there, and interested will require a re-think of the teaching practices.
