Last month the Netherlands played host to 200 international knowledge ambassadors from 36 countries, who joined together to create an international knowledge network.

On January 12th 2010, a catastrophic earthquake measuring 7.0 Mw struck the Caribbean island nation of Haiti, killing over 230,000 people. As well as the cost to human life, the quake also caused widespread infrastructural damage, destroying countless homes and businesses. Needless to say, educational establishments did not escape the damage. One year after the quake, we examine how the teachers and students of Haiti have struggled to overcome these setbacks and ensure an education for the young people of the island.

The Chinese Ministry of Education have released figures revealing that almost a quarter of a million foreigners visited China for their studies in 2009.
AFFORDABLE HIGHER EDUCATION IN NEW ZEALAND

Figures from a recent report on tuition fees at New Zealand’s higher education institutions have shown the fees to be comparable — when adjusted to inflation — to those charged in 2001.
