CONCERN AS UK BORN APPLICANTS PLUMMET

Figures have revealed that the number of UK born students applying to national universities has fallen 15.1% since this time last year. UCAS has received a total of 133,357 UK applications, a notable drop from last year’s 157,116.

It has emerged that most UK universities will find it near impossible to publish new fees in their prospectuses for the 2012/2013 academic year, due to unclear guidelines about ‘fair access’ agreements in line with the recent decision to raise fees to up to £9,000 a year.
