April 2010, Yorkshire – Last week, HRH Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, officially opened the University of Huddersfield’s International Study Centre (ISC). The centre offers international students undergraduate and postgraduate degree preparation courses.
Situated on the Queensgate campus, courses include an International Foundation Year and an International Diploma for access to the first or second years of select undergraduate degrees. It also offers a Pre-Masters pathway to a range of postgraduate courses.
Prince Andrew, the UK’s Special Representative for Trade and Investment, was welcomed by
Professor Bob Cryan, the University of Huddersfield’s Vice Chancellor, accompanied by the Mayor of Kirklees,
Cllr Julie Stewart-Turner and the High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, Mr Richard Clough. During the visit he cracked jokes about Yorkshire accents with teachers at the centre and spoke to international students from Turkey and Nigeria.
