Today, plans to create a new Welsh ‘Super University’ will be finalised that would see the merging of three Welsh universities, creating the third largest educational institution in Wales, after Cardiff and Glamorgan universities.

Students from schools across England and Wales will show off their linguistic skills at the X Factor-style regional heat of the HSBC/British Council Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition at the London School of Economics. The 300 students will compete on Monday 13 December, to win a place in the final at the British Museum in March.

Tuesday 11th May saw The University of Wales, Newport host a dinner to celebrate two years since the inception of the Welsh International Study Centre. The WISC, run by world leaders in international education Study Group, is based at the University of Wales, Newport’s Caerleon Campus.
