i-ESL - ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

ESL - English as a Second Language (or EFL - English as a Foreign Language) refers to English language qualifications for non-native speakers. English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, and is often the common language for communication between different nationalities. Therefore it is no surprise that ESL courses repeatedly appear amongst the most popular courses for international students. There are a variety of different types of English language courses available at all different levels, from short one-week courses to year-long programmes. Courses can be full- or part-time and can be general or more specialised (such as Business English). Some students choose to study an English language course overseas prior to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
